Going through the great tribulation

By Curt Deschambeau at 04/25/07 10:10

Some teach about a "rapture" (that christians will disappear from the earth BEFORE the great tribulation.)

It is clear from reading the word of God that christians will indeed go through the great tribulation, i.e., the plagues that God will send upon the wicked of the earth.

Paul talks about this in II Thessalonians 2, to console the christians who fear the day of Christ is at hand. Two things must happen before we are gathered together with Him to go to Jerusalem. For Zechariah 14:1-5 says, concerning the day of the lord, we will flee (to flit [dictionary meaning] to change one's residence, to remove) to the valley of the mountains of Jerusalem. Those two things that must happen are:

  • There shall first come a falling away (departure from the truth of God, divorce)
  • Then, that man of sin (antichrist) be revealed, the son of perdition, who shall say he is God and when he comes into being (taken, verse 7) then shall that Wicked (Satan) be revealed (verse 8) who the Lord shall destroy, whose coming is after the working of Satan (verse 9). But God has chosen you to salvation (deliverance, preservation, safety, verse 13) but we need not fear for God will be with us during the tribulation period.

I John 5:8 says, for there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood; and these three agree in one.

And I heard another voice from Heaven, saying, come out (escape or get out) of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues, i.e., Lot being guided out of Sodom. For her sins have reached unto Heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities (Rev 18:4-5)

Thank God the Holy Spirit of God will not depart from the earth that we could be saved. Thank God for Jesus Christ, who will never leave us or forsake us. But brethren, let us pray now to God that He will forgive us for our sins by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Let us confess our faults one to another and pray one for another that we may be healed.

(Rev 19:9, Heb 13:5, James 5:15, I John 1:7)
