God is so merciful that He will reason with you over and over and over again. There was a man who was afflicted by Satan and lost everything and three of his friends came to help him. When they saw his condition they tried to convince him of terrible sins (which he did not do).
After his three friends, then there came a prophet of God, who rebuked him and he refused to listen to him also.
Then the Lord God spoke to him also through a tornado, and he still did not humble himself. Then the Lord spoke again and said "You fear the fire breathing dragon and the hippopatomus, which I created, yet you do not fear me." God spoke this among other things, then Job finally repented and God forgave him and blessed him abundantly.
God will not give up on us!
