If your hand offends thee, cut it off?

When Jesus talked about plucking out your own eye or cutting off your hand or foot in Matthew 18, he was not talking about actually performing that gruesome act. Instead, he was saying if someone in your assembly (i.e., congregation, church, etc.) causes someone who is small in number, size, or quantity (figuratively; dignity) to be offended in Him, you should cast that person out of your assembly; that the rest of you do not perish because of that ONE person. If Jesus was so grieved and hurt about one of His own doing that to a little one, you better take heed for your own salvation.
