High school students participate in novel-writing challenge

04/05/09 21:31

About 36 students from Poolesville High School took on the challenge of the National Novel Writing Month when people are challenged to create a 50,000-word book in just a matter of 30 days.

This was the third year students from the school participated in the event, according to English teacher Lisa Kellert.

Only 7 students have finished a novel in these 3 years, according to Kellert, but the process (meeting in groups, brainstorming, etc.) was more important than the product.
